Lisbon

Welcome

Welcome to the 11th Heat Powered Cycles Conference (HPC2025) to be taken place in Lisbon from 25th to-28th May 2025. The theme of this edition of this conference is the heat in the new energy system. Society is changing, moving from traditional to emerging technologies and the energy system follows the change. Nevertheless, heat is still a major player regardless of whether it is a need or a waste. The “heat problem” crosses multiple fields. Heating and cooling, network stability, desalination and carbon capture processes are only a few of the applications in which heat is delivered, managed, converted and emitted across different temperatures.

Since 1997, the Heat Powered Cycles series of conferences have been the privileged and only forum driving innovation on heat-centred processes. While Lisbon will host the 2025 edition of this conference, the previous 2023 edition that took place at the University of Edinburgh, was a great success.

Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is built on seven hills and is bordered by the Tagus River and the stunning Atlantic coastline. With over 20 centuries of history, the city’s diverse architecture and rich cultural heritage create a vibrant backdrop.

See you in Lisbon.
